Risk Disclosure

Draft text. This document is a working draft for the demo installation. It must be completed and reviewed by a qualified lawyer before the service goes live.
This page lists the risks of using Centhead. Before you use a feature that carries extra risks, the app shows you the relevant list and records that you accepted it. Reading it first costs a minute and can save you money.
What this page does not do. It does not limit or waive any right that the law gives you, including consumer rights and rights to your data. It describes risks; it does not make anything lawful that is not.
In general
- Earnings are not guaranteed and are usually small. Ads pay fractions of a cent to a few cents; offers and surveys pay more but screen many people out; compute sharing often costs more in electricity than it earns. Never rely on Centhead as income, and never spend money you need on the expectation of earning it back.
- Payments can be reversed. Networks and card issuers can reverse payments after the fact. Earnings are held before they can be withdrawn so reversals normally happen while the money is still pending, but a reversal can still reduce your balance later.
- Holds delay your money. Ad earnings, offer and survey earnings and sponsor-funded earnings each have their own hold period, shown in your wallet and on the Fees page.
- Accounts can be paused or closed for fraud signals or breaches of the Fair Use policy. Withdrawals wait while an account is under review. You can ask for a human to look at any decision.
- Taxes. Rewards, app shares and mining proceeds may be taxable where you live. You are responsible for declaring and paying them. We and our payment partner may report payments to tax authorities where the law requires.
- Third parties. Payouts and identity checks run through Stripe. Offers and surveys run on partner networks, and mining pools are independent services. Their terms and their failures are outside our control.
- Security. Keep your password private, turn on two-step verification and keep your recovery codes safe. Anyone who controls your account controls your balance.
- Demo mode. A demo installation uses demonstration ads and demo money. Nothing earned there has real value.
- This is not financial, tax or legal advice.
Offers and surveys: what to know first
- Offers and surveys are provided by third-party networks. Their pages are theirs, with their own terms and privacy policies. Centhead sends them only an anonymous member id.
- Networks confirm completions later and sometimes reverse them. That is why these earnings are held before they can be withdrawn, and why a reversed offer is taken back from your balance.
- Many surveys screen people out after a few minutes. Time spent is not guaranteed to be paid.
- Some offers ask you to install software, share information with an advertiser or sign up for a service. Read what each one asks before you start, and only do what you are comfortable with.
- Be honest. Giving false answers or using automation can lead to reversals, loss of earnings and suspension.
- Rewards are income. You are responsible for any tax on them.
Promote: what you are agreeing to
- You pay for verified views, not for results. Centhead does not guarantee clicks, sales, followers or any other outcome.
- Every campaign is reviewed by a person and may be rejected, paused or removed. Changing what viewers see or where it leads sends it back to review.
- You are responsible for the truth, legality and rights of everything you submit: claims, images, video, music and the destination page. Misleading, illegal or prohibited content breaches the Advertising Policy.
- Promote does not buy likes, comments, follows, subscriptions or reposts on other platforms and may not be used to ask viewers for them.
- A sponsored-visit bonus brings people who were paid to open your link. They are real people but their intent is low; judge it as paid traffic.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. A disputed payment pauses your campaigns while the account is reviewed. Unspent budget returns to your Promote balance, and refunds to your card are handled by support.
- Views that are later found invalid are refunded into the campaign budget.
Sharing compute: the risks, plainly
- Running the miner uses electricity and generates heat and fan noise. Sustained load can shorten the life of hardware. A typical home processor earns less than its electricity costs.
- Rewards are paid by a third-party mining pool directly to the wallet you enter. Centhead never holds them and cannot recover or reverse them. Check the address carefully; a wrong address means the funds are gone.
- Cryptocurrency prices are volatile and the pool may change its terms or stop paying.
- Your security software may flag the miner. Centhead will never try to hide it from, or disable, your security software.
- 1% of mining time is paid to Centhead as a service fee, and the miner’s own authors receive their built-in 1% donation. Both are described in the app.
- Mining proceeds can be taxable income where you live.
- You can stop at any time. Nothing starts by itself.
Paid polls: what sponsors see and what you agree to
- A sponsor sees only the totals for each answer option. They never see who answered or any personal detail.
- Answer honestly and take your time. Answers given too fast, or in patterns that look automated, are not paid and can lead to a review.
- Poll earnings are held before they can be withdrawn and are taken back if the payment behind them is reversed.
- If a poll looks misleading, inappropriate or asks for personal information, report it from the poll card. Polls with repeated reports are paused.
- Rewards are income. You are responsible for any tax on them.
Paid tasks: how it works and what you agree to
- Tasks are small jobs posted by sponsors: surveys, testing, labelling and local errands. You choose which to do. You are an independent member, not an employee of Centhead or of the sponsor.
- Each task shows its price before you start. For tasks a sponsor reviews, the sponsor has a few days to accept or reject your work; if they say nothing, it is accepted automatically. A rejection always comes with a reason, and you can dispute it once.
- Labelling tasks check your accuracy against answers the sponsor already knows. Guessing or automation is not paid and can lead to removal from the task.
- Never enter your real passwords, card details or personal documents on a site you were asked to test. Centhead will never ask you to.
- Task earnings are held before they can be withdrawn and are taken back if the payment behind them is reversed.
- Rewards are income. You are responsible for any tax on them.
Local jobs: safety first
- A local job is an errand in the real world, such as photographing a shop window or checking a price. Never accept one you are not comfortable doing.
- Do not enter private property, restricted areas or anywhere you are not allowed. Do not break any law, take risks or put yourself or others in danger for a task.
- Do not photograph people, children or car number plates. Photos have their location data removed when you upload them, but check what is visible in the picture.
- The sponsor and Centhead support can see the proof you upload. Nobody else can.
- Report any job that asks for something unsafe, unlawful or personal. Reported jobs are paused and reviewed.
- You are responsible for your own travel, costs and safety. Centhead does not insure you.
Selling on Centhead: your responsibilities
- You are the seller. You are responsible for what you sell, for having the rights to it, and for any VAT, sales tax and income tax that applies to your sales. Centhead is not your tax adviser.
- Centhead keeps a flat 1% of each sale. The card processor’s fee is passed on at cost and shown on every sale. Nothing else is deducted.
- Sales are held for a refund window before you can withdraw them. A refund, or a card dispute, takes the sale back from your balance.
- Products are reviewed before they go on sale. Illegal, infringing, misleading, adult, hateful or malicious files (including anything that harms a computer) are not allowed and lead to removal and forfeiture of the related earnings.
- Tips are gifts from people who appreciate your work. They are not payment for a service, and they cannot be used to buy likes, follows or other engagement on other platforms.
- You must be 18 or older.
Embedding Centhead: your responsibilities
- Keep your secret key on your server. Anything done with it is done in your name.
- Do not reward users for clicking ads or for extra views, do not generate views yourself and do not direct the widget at children. Apps that do are suspended and the affected earnings are forfeited.
- Your share is held and reversed together with the payout it came from. Reversals can reduce your balance after the fact.
- You must tell your own users that you use Centhead and show them the split that applies. The widget does this for you; do not hide or cover it.
- Ad availability and rates are not guaranteed and can change.
